Dear friends,
welcome to our Chinese medicine congress with the theme Illnesses of the Third Millennium that will take place 25th – 28th November 2010 in hotel Diplomat in Prague, Czech Republic.
Experts from China, USA, Europe, Czech Republic and Slovakia will be outlining approaches of Chinese medicine and western treatment of cardiovascular diseases, addictions, obesity, joint pain and human psyche. International lecturers and students are welcome as congress languages will be Czech and English!
Workshops on qigong exercises, tuina massage and individual dietary plans according to Chinese medicine are all planned.
Philosophy
At the very beginning of the third millennium, we have managed to view far-off galaxies and modify genes deep within living cells, even as we have smashed the tiniest particles of matter. We have technically transformed our world into a global village, but even so, the illnesses of civilization afflict every inhabitant.
Great problems call for great solutions. It is time to apply all the knowledge that our planet provides, no matter how far off in time or space. We feel that even in modern times the long-standing wisdom of Chinese medicine has something to say about the illnesses of today.
The ancient Taoist philosophy speaks of balance; everything has its good side and bad side, bringing joy and woe, yin and yang. We welcome you on a pilgrimage with congress participants in the fields of Chinese and western medicine, for the whole congress is borne in the spirit of the allegory of illness and the travels of ailing humanity through the labyrinth of diagnoses, to ultimately (after 4 days) find the paradise of the heart and knowledge.
Programme
The opening and second days will be devoted to cardiovascular diseases, treatment of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and digestive tract disorders. The third day will be devoted to joints and pain treatment as well as addictions (workaholism, alcoholism and drugs). The following, fourth day will be devoted to problems of being overweight, anorexia, dietology and the psychological problems associated with them.
The Saturday Gala evening promises excitement as your blood will be stirred by oriental dances of women with swords and we hope it will inspire everyone to have a great dance with our live orchestra.
So come along!
